Not everyone is perfect we are human, but do you have to be such a bitch?

In the last five years I have noticed how bad the vibes are getting at shows, there is so much attitude and people thinking they are ‘better than’ others. We are all there for the same reason to hear some great music, see some amazing bands, and feel like we belong somewhere when we don’t feel accepted anywhere else in the world. But how is that possible when people are just constantly judging each other and giving dirty looks across the room. There used to be a mutual respect at shows between people understanding ‘Hey, you’re here to see this band and you actually care, you’re cool.’ But this theory has gone out the window completely. When you walk into a venue now its dirty looks followed by complete judgment of what you look like, what brand you’re wearing, what color your hair is, and how many gauges you have in your face. The girls seem to be the worst at this, not saying you boys are completely off the hook, but I will get to that later. Many younger girls have made the underage venues their local hangout to go and look ‘cool’. They really don’t care about the music or the bands playing besides the lead singers who they want to rip their clothes off and ‘make their babies’. They believe by coming to the venue in a pair of super tight ripped up skinny jeans, a band shirt, and fake piercings that the boys there will notice them and want to hook up with them. It’s turned into an animal pit instead of a mosh pit a.k.a who can get to the piece of meat the fastest? Another thing I have noticed among the girls at shows is just the pure cattiness and bitterness between them if it’s not giving dirty looks its rudely bumping into them and then walking away talking badly about them. Girls we are all human beings we don’t need to degrade each other to make yourself look better. Now boys you thought you were off the hook didn’t you? Pardon my French but the ‘hardcore’ boys in the pit have become complete DOUCHEBAGS! There used to be generally known rules of the pit; 1.) If someone falls pick them up 2.) Anyone can try in the pit just give them a chance, if they suck then you can kick them out 3.) If you hit someone in the face you turn around and apologize and make sure they are okay 4.) IF YOU’RE A BOY YOU DO NOT HIT THE GIRLS 5.) If someone looses a personal belonging you hold it up in the air till they come get it from you 6.) Everyone is there for a good time not to kick each other’s ass. Apparently I missed the memo when these rules were no longer applied in the pits. I see and have experienced so many boys just going to town hitting girls in the face and beating the living day lights out of them. I have had a boy hit me in the gut so hard that he knocked me out and knocked the breath out of me and I was out the rest of the show, how is that fair? Also we always used to pick someone up if they fell in the pit now they just trample over them severely hurting the person on the ground who is now helpless. Another thing I have noticed is during the two steps and the breakdowns while people are doing their donkey kicks and windmills they hit someone and we used to just turn around and say ‘sorry bro are you okay?’ Now people start throwing punches at each other’s face. Weren’t you guys just doing the same exact thing? Now you want to beat the crap out of someone else? I am not trying to rag on anyone in particular I just miss the days you could go into a show talk to the people standing around you and make friends. When you could walk into a venue and take a deep breath of sweaty heavy music filled air and be like ‘I’m home’. It’s time to as A Day To Remember would say set your egos aside and get the fuck over it. The next time you’re in the pit or in a venue and you feel yourself ready to give a dirty look or punch someone in the face take a second and realize this person is there for the same reason as you, to have a good time and listen to some really great music. Keep our music scene alive, don’t kill it with hate.

Fire And Ice Tour 2012

(PLEASE NOTE ALL POSTS ARE FROM MY OWN POINT OF VIEW)

We Came As Romans dropped their second full length album last September 'Understanding What We've Grown To Be' . Since then they have been on the road non stop showing what love and dedication they have for their fans.

I went out to support them on the Fire And Ice Tour March 21,22,and 23. Joining wcar on stage was Emmure, Blessthefall, Woe, Is Me, and The Color Morale. A jam packed night of really great music and even better stage energy, each night was topping the night before.

The Color Morale was a newer band I had never seen live before their story behind why they make music and why they are a band, is the soul and the heart of what music should be about.  Each night they took a moment to let the fans know they appreciate them and they wouldn't be here on the stage if it weren't for each of their support. Which I truly appreciate when bands do that.

I'm also sure everyone has heard of the recent member departure and change in Woe, Is Me, after the departure of clean vocalist Tyler Carter in 2011 they gained Hance Alligood as their new clean vocalist. Hance was quickly accepted into Woe, is me and toured with them. After a short break Woe, is me recently announced another shocking members departure of screamer Michael Bohn, keyboardist Ben Ferris, and bass guitar Cory Ferris. I personally have seen Woe, is me with all of the members so I have seen how they have changed as a band and as a whole over this whole time. As sad as I was to see Tyler leave the band I believe that Hance has done a very good job under all the pressure and has come into his own as the new clean vocalist. But after all the member changing and new faces taking the stage as 'Woe, is me' I truly believe they should become something new and present themselves as something new. The true woe, is me fans will stick by them no matter what happens but, once you change your two main voices and faces in a band is it really still the same band? As well as playing older woe, is me material and trying to make it their own they are also using Tyler's recorded voice overs during their set. I have high hopes that the new woe, is me members will find their own path and create something new with their talent they now have on the stage. Besides all that member mumble jumble they are still putting on an AMAZING stage performance there's nothing like a band who puts their heart and soul into their set.

Blessthefall is a band I have seen a few times now and can I just say 'Have you taken their new album Awakening home and listened to it naked yet?!' Every night front man Beau would tell the kids in the crowd to go to their merch table and pick up their new album and take it home to listen to naked. If they would he would, but how much you wanna bet he has never listened to it naked? ;] Blessthefall as a band is one of the most 'well rounded' group of musicians I have seen take the stage in a long time. They play off each others talents and personalities to put on an amazing set every night. They also try and add in something new for fans to remember their set. Thursday night at the Grove of Anaheim in Anaheim, California Beau started a multiroom circle pit running through 2 levels of the audience and led the circle pit himself! While Friday night at the House of Blues in Hollywood, California, Beau stage dove into the crowd and returned with no longer wearing a shirt. Those girls just couldn't wait to undress the man!

Emmure is about to become a slave to the game as their new album Slave To The Game  will be dropping this week on April 10th make sure to go pick that one up kiddos! Something to turn up and drown out those long hours of homework and work and that bitch that just won't seem to leave you alone. Emmure's music is not for the faint of heart, they're down and dirty and not afraid to get in your face. Unless you plan to 2-step your way to the pit you better back the hell up! I have seen Emmure more times than I can count on my own two hands and each time they never seize to amaze me. Between front man Frankie's vocals and his brutal dance moves and their bands down and dirty sound no one in the room can't resist to bob their head back and forth just a little. Their offensive true to life lyrics are just the cherry on top of there hardcore sundae.

The moment you've all been waiting for the heavy hitting headliners We Came As Romans! Between an elaborate stage set up, lighting rigging, and pure passion they put into their set, I promise you will never be disappointed in spending the twenty dollar bill sitting at the bottom of your wallet to see them. Their set includes a wide variety of material from To Plant A Seed and the newly released Understanding What We've Grown To Be there isn't a moment of their set that you should be standing still because they sure don't. Each member of  WCAR is 100% dedicated and passionate about putting on the best set possible for their fans and their soon to become fans. I have seen We came as romansmerch booth and say hi to their badass merch guy Brian)

I give great respect to each of the bands playing this tour and I can't wait to see what they have coming up in the future. I highly recommend seeing these bands live if they come to your hometown you won't regret spending a night headbanging and forgetting all your problems for great music and a night to party!

Introductions are bitter-sweet but this is all hardcore swag.

It's finally time to get this up and running! With in the pit is something I have been wanting to start for a while and low key have already been running. For those of you who don't know me I am KaylaCulprit, I have been attending shows, concerts, raves, and local events since I was about 12 years old. Music is my life and since you're here I'm assuming yours as well. I have a lot of music experience and have some decent connections I hope to share with all of you. But enough about me, the point of this whole blog is to share my music insight, knowledge, experiences, and get you the 'in the know' on all music events going on. We will be having guest writers and reviewers occasionally featured on the blog as well with interviews from band members. I'll post updated lists on shows I will be attending and when to expect new updates. I am open to all suggestions and even to here your guys experiences if you've attended the same shows.
Enjoy and stay rocking, welcome to the family!
